Think that we are teaching as usual
We consider the different type of students
In different level while teaching
For some students we teach alphabet
Some others learn to read
Some more learn words and
Bit of them learning to frame sentences
Some are in remedial teaching
Some are busy with their pending notes
Some are writing their copy writing
Some last day's absentee is busy with previous day's FA activity
Only remained updates are listening to our syllabus..
We teach for them all with in given time with in five piriods of a week
Meanwhile clubs, games
Prathibha karanji kalothsava,
Science drama, athletics,
Tour, school annual days,
20days trainings, role play,
Folk dance, new building inauguration, social work,
Special class, programs of
Other departments like health department, checkups! Distributing meals, forcing them to drink milk meanwhile...
With all these types of students, in Sslc the target is 100%
Day night camp for those students those who don't know what is fail and what is not completed..
Anyhow if he/she passed by teachers grace..
After that also he/she doesn't know what is fail and NC...
The students think that work hard or not you will move forward year by year..
At last they may fail in their life when they can't achieve anything in their life...
Is it not true...
[8/12, 9:49 PM] Tr Tharanath: Good poem with grievances of a teacher. Most of the shortcomings of a student who crossed primary school has been depicted in the poem, and it is the list of weakness of students...those who do not learn well.
Many of my friends didn't have good education, but now they enjoy fulfilled life, a life teachers can't imagine. Most of my just passed students enjoy a high income and high comfort life, with all that an individual's life needs. Sometimes we need to measure in terms of the comforts we have in life, not knowledge. It is usual that we educated people to think whatever is written in book and taught in schools is knowledge and that would support him in life.
Counting is the only mathematics the mass can understand well, and perhaps admit. They don't need second degrees equation or Pythagoras theorem. They don't even need Einstein theory of relativity, or Newton's gravitational theory. All they need is some mathematics or the logic behind living and earning, and they come to school to receive it. Whatever you do, you do it for livelihood, and you need to understand that even without any such instruments like scholastic knowledge and skills, one can make good life. Knowledge comes to individual by interaction....and by this a dull person learns life skills and and living.
Teaching is our profession and we need to work for get our students to a proper levels, but we should not be under impression that we are perfect even at subject level, leave the outside world and challenges of life. We can not be master of their future, but we can only be their guides and inspiration if possible. All that we should do is to get them certificate that justifies their knowledge the state has stipulated. It is not a difficult task at all if you think.
