A letter to Mother
My dear Amma,
Here I want to write a letter for you saying how I lead my life in your influence. Yes Amma, you lived in a thatched hut, but I am not. You lived with a husband who was not addicted to the liquor, but he was an entirely different person from others. So called father was not only illiterate but also uneducated too. He neither interested in studies, nor respect.
You have earned paisa by paisa not by robbery. But you earned even a single rupee in hard work. Cutting and carrying firewood on head not only for us, but also for other houses, cutting and carrying grass for others cows, washing other eaten dishes, cleaning rice for others.. carrying cement bundle up in the hills to build a dam with male workers, being equal to them.. These were your source of income. Per day your income may be rupees hundred or less than that. But you saved it for us without spending on your wished things. You have sacrificed your life completely for your children.
You bought vegetables to home out of your pocket money. Instead of wearing gold, new sarees as other women, you have spent it on children's education. I wish Mom, in this world all the children would get a mother like you. Then I'm sure nobody will become robbers or cheats. All will get good education and good job with their kind, good, helpful nature.
Mom, you are the real god of our life, you are the real first guru of our zindgi! No men are equal to you in our life. Achieving something out of richness is not great. Achieving everything out of poverty is really great. You didn't beg with others saying, "I am poor and I need money for my children's education " but you were collecting cow dung for sale to landlords and out of that money, buying books for us!
Wao, you are really great my lovely Amma. No one can beat you in efforts on this world. Two girl children of you are double graduated and working in educating the society. One is in teaching field and another one is in police department ro correct the society as well as future generation! You have no education, but as Hajabba sit, your goal was great, vision was neat!
Even you are unable to read the letters written, no problem Amma, you can read the hearts and feelings! Who told that "you don't know anything? " You know everything about life. You didn't threw your girl children to the dustbin or to the forest or in d cradle of orphanage. You made them the eyes of this society. You made them powerful so that they should stand on their feet and tell some comfort words to others. You are really a great soul my Amma.
No father can work as much as you. Caring for the children even in pain and own health problems, eagerness towards children's good future, looking after a patient husband, did death works and rituals of father in law and mother in law. You managed two sister in laws and their family.
In a small age of seventeen year, you got your first baby. Then you only was a baby and you had a baby on your hand. I don't know how did you manage it! My god until nine months pregnant, you were carrying cement packets working on hills! God might have filled more power on you! Sometimes tears flirt from eyes as when I remember it just imagine your hardships! You are really great mom! No words in my dictionary to appreciate you more than that.
At the age of sixty also you are living alone thinking that I should not depend on any of my children! I have no scale to measure up your greatness Mom! God bless you ever with your cherished dreams come true. I am always with you until my last breath. I like your gardening skill and strong mind power. Pore me your patience and all skills.
No ending for your appreciation in me amma. Live long life. Let the god shower only happiness in you. In my all difficulties I remember you. You are my favorite, You are my adorable, you are my teacher, you are my master, you are my world, you are my god and you are everything..
I love you ever Amma..
Your loving daughter,
Bhavya..
